Here's a useless bit of trivia for you all. It is harder to role an eighton 2d4 than it is on 1d8. So, if you were going to upgrade axes to 2d4, you'd have to decide if you wanted it to be more likely that you would do 8 damage, or if you wanted to more consistantly do a damage between 4 and 6.

All of those strategies seem good (although the cloudkill one wouldn't really sit well with a good party). Traps work VERY well against the shadow dragon and firkraag. As an aside: would traps work against the black dragon? Goes hostile as soon as you talk to it, or already is hostile, so you couldn ...

@Radek: it never said that they saved, that's why i worried. i thought dioguys might have dummed it down in the patch or something, so that it only works against people with a certain number of hp.

@KN: don't you only get control of the undead if you are evil? (more's the pitty.)

I just killed the shadowdragon today at core rules difficulty, and there definately wasnt't any silver dragon blood, much to my disappointment.

Bountyhunters are awesome. Okay, so the special traps are nothing special, but they are additional traps. Since just about anything worth mentioning (dragons, demi-lichs, rarara) saves against the often anoying hold/otiluke's/maze, I just treat them as a normal trap. the shadowdragon's ...

I'm really impatient when dcing, i always want both classes as soon as possible. imho, dualling into a thief is an excellent way to go, cos they have the best xp table and they rock at high levels. it's always nice when you need to earn LESS points in your second class in order to get your first one ...

I've just started a ranger dc'ed into a cleric, and I was wondering if anyone had any good tactics that i could use.

Also would casting blade barried and then sanctuary work? would the damage done by the bb count as a violation of the sanctuary rules?

I played BG1 with a whole bunch of solo characters, but dumped them all! In BG1, my neutral characters didn't get a mix of special abilities so I missed out on vampiric touch. But I'm a hampster lover, so I play solo.

A wish quest (there is only one I think) is a quest you get by casting the 7th lvl wizard spell limited wish, and asking for a quest. You can buy a scroll from the adventure mart. (Write it: you can get some good stuff, and it pays for itself.)

I've heard that the demilich can also be killed by traps as well, but I've never tried it myslef. The strategy section on this sight has a whole bunch of ways to kill kangass.
