Puzzle Quest 2 Coming to the PC and Mobile Devices

Namco sent out a press release this afternoon announcing plans to bring Infinite Interactive's Puzzle Quest 2 to the PC, iPhone, iPad, and other mobile devices later this year. The Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS versions still seem to be on track for a June 22nd release, though:

The Sequel to the Award-Winning Puzzle Quest Fights Back with New Adventures and Features

SAN JOSE, Calif.--Namco Networks, a leading publisher and developer of mobile, iPhone and PC games for mass-market casual gamers, will launch the PC version of Puzzle Questâ„¢ 2 in North America this summer and the mobile, iPhone and iPad versions later this year. Puzzle Quest 2, the sequel to the award-winning Puzzle Quest, is a Match 3 puzzle, fantasy and role-playing game developed by Infinite Interactive and produced by D3Publisher (D3P) where gamers reclaim the once peaceful village of Verloren from the evil clutches of the demon Gorgon.

Gamers can play four distinct characters Templar, Sorcerer, Barbarian or Assassin that provide interesting twists on class-specific mechanics. While progressing, characters can be leveled up through the adventure in Story Mode, Instant Action, Tournament Mode or Multiplayer Mode. Other new game features include:

'¢ Online Leaderboards players can experiences new levels of challenges with their customized characters;

'¢ More active elements like swinging weapons with both hands, using sidekicks to access spells, and equipping shields to wield in battle;

'¢ Tons of mini-games using a variety of puzzle activities that reward gamers with constant treasure and experience while introducing new challenges picking locks, bashing through doors and disarming traps;

'¢ Puzzle Quest's original, award-winning score blended with hundreds of hand-painted pieces of art, and new gem colors.
