Divinity II: Ego Draconis Interviews

Larian Studios' Lynn Vanbesien has once again dropped by the Divinity II forums to point out some recent coverage for the game. This time around, she brings word of a text interview on Russian website Gameslife.ru with lead designer Farhang Namdar and a video interview on Crave Online with Larian CEO Swen Vincke. An English translation of one of the questions posed to Farhang:
Q: Nowadays there's tendency to make RPG characters more or less believable. Brutal warriors covered with scars and tattoos are true trademark of present RPG generation. But in Divinity 2 we can see sleek well-groomed heroes who wear shiny, fancy armor. Why had you chosen to give up naturalism and create noble rosy-cheeked warriors?

A: We mustn't forget that the game has its own universe and also how far are you willing to go in the design process to make it realistic. As far as the puzzles and dialogs in the game are concerned we tried to keep them light and funny so having these bruised and cut warriors wouldn't have fitted the context immediately.
