Dungeon Scroll Released for iDevices, Reviews

Robinson Technologies, the team behind the BBS door classic The Legend of the Red Dragon, has released their 2003 puzzle/RPG Dungeon Scroll for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Rather than go with the same gameplay conventions as Puzzle Quest, Dungeon Scroll is a first-person dungeon crawler where letters and the formation of words are your weapons.

Since this is the first time we're mentioning it, here's an older review (score: 9/10) on GameTunnel:
I think I've probably said this many times by now, but Dungeon Scroll is a game well worth your time and money. At just $7.99 it becomes really difficult to determine why you wouldn't pick up a copy of this game. Honestly, they could charge $19.99 and it would still be a great deal for your entertainment dollar. If you are looking for a game that will be fun to play, especially with close friends, give Dungeon Scroll a look, I'm sure you'll be glad you did.

And a new review of the iDevice version on TouchArcade:
Wrap all this up with a global leaderboard (that I'm currently #9 on, although not for long I'm sure), and you've got a game which is way more fun than I was expecting it to be when I first downloaded it. If you like word games, Dungeon Scroll is one that you really need to add to your collection. The RPG elements create a really unique experience, and the individual monster battles will have you finding words and strategizing when to play them instead of just playing absolutely everything you find like most word games.
