EverQuest Interview

Massively was able to corner EverQuest producer Thom Terrazas for a three-page Q&A about the state of the long-running MMORPG. A couple of questions about Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and PlanetSide are thrown in for good measure, too.
Massively: What do the current players of EverQuest have to look forward to in the near future?

TT: We're looking at live content right now, and improving that. We're trying to make sure that there is new content, something coming out on a continual basis. I think we've noticed that content was coming out a bit slower, and we want to make sure that it's on more of an interval, so that by the time you're done with the content we put out, there's something cool and new coming right behind it. We want to keep your interest, and keep that level of fun going.

Massively: It's certainly quite a feat for a game of EverQuest's age.

TT: Exactly, it is. The challenge is for the entire team to look outside of the box and try and do something new, something that hasn't been done in the game before. Working on those new ideas that are actually capable of being done is the key, and doing them in a timely manner.
