Puzzle Quest: Galactrix Reviews

Reviews of Puzzle Quest: Galactrix continue to make their way to the web, with three more showing up over the past couple of days.

The first is at The Escapist with no score:
You're not going to be blown away by the graphics, the writing, the sound, or even the plot, but that's not why you play Puzzle Quest , anyway. You play because you it will consume your soul and devour entire days' worth of free time without you ever really noticing or putting up much of a fuss. And that Galactrix does very, very well.

The second is at Gamer Limit with a score of 7.5/10:
Although a very solid puzzle game, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix struggles in its RPG offerings, falling short on plot and role-playing depth that most standard RPG's offer. Yet, if you're looking for a fresh twist on Bejeweled, Puzzle Quest, or any other of its incarnations, Galactrix should not be passed on by fans of the genre. But for 1600 MP, others may rightfully pass.

And the third is at GamePro with no score:
Unlocking leapgates, battling pirates and gathering rumors (I'm such a gossip) in the vast Galactrix universe is fun, but being a young space pilot has its drawbacks. The controls can be sticky and slow. In situations where time is not a factor, this isn't really an issue, but when the clock is running, its frustrating. Galactrix can also get repetitive. While there are a variety of different modes, when it comes right down to it you're still just matching gems. But most troublesome is the AI, which will start to feel uneven after playing for long stretches. You can't see what type of gems are coming in next after a line has been cleared, its completely random. And there were times I felt like my opponent was getting every break. Thankfully there's no failing in this game, you just keep trying until you win.

Even with its flaws, there's plenty of fun to be had with Puzzle Quest: Galactrix. An addictive title with a deep single-player campaign and a unique take on the match three genre is sure to keep gamers busy.
