Fallen Earth Interview

Icarus Studios' Lee Hammock answers a selection of questions about their post-apocalyptic MMORPG Fallen Earth in a new interview on gry.o2.pl.
Klecha (Gry.o2.pl): How will the combat in the game be handled?

Lee Hammock (Icarus Studios): Combat is handled through a mixture of first person shooter and role playing game elements. Hit determination is strictly FPS style. The player has to aim each of his attacks to have them land successfully. Once a hit is made, an RPG style system determines the damage based on the weapon used, the defender's armor, and the skills of the attacker and defender. Hits to specific locations, such as head shots, can also affect damage.

Klecha (Gry.o2.pl): What kind of weapons and items will the player use in the game?

Lee Hammock (Icarus Studios): Weapons range from iron pipes or rusty shivs to assault rifles and vibro-blades. Players will also make use of armor, clothes, medical gear, toolkits, mounts, and vehicles. A starting character is likely to wear torn clothes, wield a club or a zip gun, and ride a horse while a high level character is likely to wear heavy Kevlar armor, use an automatic rifle or an advanced tech melee weapon, and drive a dune buggy or muscle car.
