Mythic Responds to Layoff Rumors

After some buzz circulated about possible layoffs at EA subsidiary and Warhammer Online creator Mythic Entertainment, we have a response of sort, reported by Edge.
He [CEO Mark Jacobs - GB] wrote on IGN's VN message boards Monday, "As part of EA, all studios are expected to do their fair share to meet the expectations of our CEO." EA boss John Riccitiello announced in December that the publisher would be cutting 1,000 jobs to trim costs following lower-than-expected sales of key products.

Jacobs added, "...We have a very large studio and pretty much every person there has been and will continue to work on [Warhammer Online] for quite a while (meaning we haven't started work on another game yet)."

Gaming blog Joystiq recently ran a rumor saying Mythic laid off (21 customer service employees, half of QA and all of the playtest group."
So no real word yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some layoffs from Mythic and other EA studios coming soon.
