Requiem: Bloodymare Previews

Gravity Interactive's Requiem: Bloodymare is the subject of three new previews, thanks to what was shown of the horror-themed MMORPG at GDC. Here's a bit from IGN's preview:
The action takes place on a war-torn planet where many races fought for centuries. Magic and science created different kinds of warfare, sparking some sort of disturbance. The planet's docile creatures (which yes, in case you were wondering, include boars) eventually became ravenous monsters, and the intelligent races were forced to scatter. Eventually those in hiding created a breed of super-soldiers called Temperions to battle the disgusting things that dominated most of the planet.

A snip from 1UP's preview:
Requiem surprised us with its complex class system. Players pick from one of three humanoid races, then pick if they want to focus on melee or magic. Once they pick their base class, they can go into a secondary level of their class, working out skills that they want to specialize in (a warrior might go defensive or offensive, a caster might go for healing or damage). This looked fairly intricate on its own, but it goes even deeper. Since the world of Requiem is all about mixing science and magic, players can also manipulate their character's DNA, allowing them to switch and combine any five genetic abilities (it was also stated that combing undisclosed sequences of genes will allow players to unlock a sixth slot for DNA).

And a little something from Ten Ton Hammer's preview:
Finally, the Beast Possession system rounds out the last of the three major features in Requiem. To explain a bit, Asato explained that Beast Possession isn't about charming or (possessing) beasts around you, it's more of a transformation into a creature that you've encountered in the past. (Through your adventures you'll be able to pick up various monster templates that you can choose to transform into,) Asato mentioned. (You'll have three different slots for three different monsters that are totally independent of your character class and level.) With this system, players can briefly switch into different modes of play on the fly as long as their (hardcore bar) is filled. This (hardcore bar) refers to a slowly filling timer that eventually enables you to transform into Beast mode and lay waste to your surrounding enemies.
