AIAS Nominations Announced

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 11th Interactive Achievement Awards, to take place in February. BioShock broke the bank with 12 nominations. They have quite a few categories, so here's a pick of familiar faces (just picking through a few categories, not a complete list):
BioShock: Overall Game of the Year, Console Game of the Year, Computer Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Gaming, Outstanding Character Performance, Outstanding Achievement in Story Development, Outstanding Achievement in Soundtrack, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design

Mass Effect: Console Game of the Year, Outstanding Character Performance, Outstanding Achievement in Story Development, Roleplaying Game of the Year

The Witcher: Roleplaying Game of the Year

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade: Computer Game of the Year, Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords: Handheld Game of the Year, Downloadable Game of the Year

Richard Gariott's Tabula Rasa: Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year

The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar: Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year

Guild Wars: Eye of the North: Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year
I can live with BioShock breaking the bank, but seriously..."outstanding innovation"? That game is one of the least innovative titles of the year.
