E3 gave us our first in-depth walkthrough on what looked close to being the final game, and it's safe to say BioWare will deliver on its big promises. The 'digital actors' are among the best videogame characters we've ever seen and the combat is fluid and the level of customisation available to make your head spin.
Most importantly those '24-like' decisions and how they'll "test your conscience", which the developer has banged on about for ages now, actually work. When dealing with an enraged and suicidal friend in Mass Effect, well, let's just say that BioWare has taken some notes from the Jack Bauer school of thought when it comes to killing off main characters. Destined for greatness then and undoubtedly one of the biggest games of the year!
