The Witcher Delayed

CD Projekt's official website for The Witcher has been updated with an announcement (in Polish) that the game has been pushed back six weeks from September to October.

My only problem with this is that it puts the game in direct competition with other big name releases around the same time - BioShock, Mask of the Betrayer, Hellgate: London, and Mass Effect to name a few. Wouldn't the game stand a better chance to earn our gaming dollars if it was released during a quieter month? Why not just wait until the first quarter of 2008?
