Overlord Previews

Both GameSpy and 1Up have written up new hands-on previews of Codemasters and Triumph Studios' Overlord. A snip from GameSpy's article:
While you do control your character directly, upgrading his weapons and armor at the cost of ransacked gold and (optionally) the life forces you've stolen, most of your interaction with the world is minion-based. You can simply hold down the right trigger and they'll constantly flood in front of you, automatically destroying what they can and stealing what they can't (although they won't attack villagers by default). You also have the option to "sweep" your minions, moving the mass of them by moving the right thumbstick as an invisible broom, forcing them the way you want them to go.

And a snip from 1Up's article:
Laying waste to a somewhat warped fantasy land with a squad of mischievous jerks was an experience once reserved for MMO players with a lot of sick friends and a disregard for threatened IP bannings (Cough). It's heartwarming to see that glory finally brought to the masses in a healthier way.
