Hellgate: London Previews

A pair of updated previews for Flagship Studios' Hellgate: London are available, both of which are based on CES impressions. The first is at GameSpot:
Roper walked us through character creation. You can create a male or female character with an extensive amount of customization options, ranging from body features to build and height. Then he showed off the opening levels, including a beginning quest to recover a prosthetic leg for a poor little boy. The only problem is that the leg is the possession of a giant demon. You'll have to venture to the surface and battle hordes of demons to recover it, and that gave Roper a chance to show off the randomly generated levels, so each game of Hellgate: London won't play the same way twice.

And the second is at IGN PC:
As we traveled through the sewers, sword-carrying monsters that looked like skinless velociraptors (with horns) would slink out from around corners and charge us. Later, we came upon these slimy, Jabba the Hut-like grubs that would erupt when defeated, sending smaller scavengers out from their carcass seeking revenge. The Electronic Arts rep who was giving us our demo confessed he hadn't even seen these creatures before. Apparently the folks at developer Flagship Studios are cramming new monsters into the game on an almost daily basis.
