Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Reviews

Several more reviews of Ubisoft and Arkane Studios' Dark Messiah of Might and Magic have been posted to the web. The first is at UGO with an overall score of "B":
Between the bugs and lack of originality during the single player campaign, Dark Messiah is a great idea for a game that was executed only somewhat well. I still enjoyed the spike-kicking, physics-based combat and would recommend this game to anyone who usually enjoys what few fantasy-based action games there are out there, but steer clear if you're looking for a really compelling online experience or an RPG-style experience. It may be folly to expect anything truly epic out of Dark Messiah, but this still feels like a series of missed opportunities by a development studio that seems like they're not really ready yet to make AAA games.

The second is at Gameplanet with an overall score of 4/5:
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is, without a doubt, a great game to play. With every facet of what you'd expect in an RPG fully exposed for your gaming pleasure, you can certainly believe that Arkane Studios have not left a single stone unturned in their pursuit to create the near-perfect RPG. And the question of the day - is it better than Oblivion? That we just can't say but we can certainly vouch for the game on its own merit and rank it as a game that could easily give Oblivion a run for its money. Bottom line, if you are an RPG fan, you won't want to miss out on Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, especially so close to the Christmas season.

The third is at The Guru of 3D with no overall score:
All in all though, Dark Messiah is a worthy game and will certainly keep you more than entertained as the winter nights draw in and the rain clouds gather. Let's hope Arkane come back with another instalment to improve on what could be a genuinely classic gaming experience.

The fourth is at Game Industry News with an overall score of 4.5/5:
If you prefer action in your RPGs, then Dark Messiah is your ticket. It could have been billed as a medieval shooter with role-playing elements just as easily, and unlike most hybrid type titles, does well with a foot in both places.

And the fifth is at The Sidney Morning Herald with an overall score of 3.5/5:
Far from perfect but Dark Messiah has entertaining fantasy action. Dispatching foes in imaginative ways is the highlight.
