Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Reviews

A handful of new reviews for Ubisoft and Arkane Studios' Dark Messiah of Might and Magic have made their way to the 'net. The first is at GotNext with an overall score of 5/5:
As much as I want to fault the game for its bland story, stale fantasy clichés, and weaker later levels, I can't deny that this was some of the most fun I've had with a game all year. I don't think it's going to hit its mark with fans of Might and Magic or Elder Scrolls, but for the cynical RPG fan tired of repeatedly clicking on monsters until they die, Dark Messiah is like a syringe of adrenaline straight to the heart. Arcane might not introduce anything entirely revolutionary, but they only steal from the best, and the blend of elements is far more refreshing than anything the genre has come up with lately.

The second is at Internode Games Network with an overall score of 9/10:
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic goes down very, very well. Fantasy purists yearning to strike out on a dashing adventure within a game high on immersion have but one easy choice to make this year. Grab this gem of a game as it's a fine choice indeed.

The third is at GamesXtreme with an overall score of 8.0/10:
This is a game that should have had a stricter QA process and it is unacceptable to most gamers, who have shelled out their hard earned cash for a game that they can't play without using a command.

And the fourth is at GameTrailers with an overall score of 8.1/10:
Marred by a few noticeable annoyances, what could have been a near flawless excursion drops from excellent to above average. There's nothing here to stop anyone from getting through the quest, and what a fine, clichéd quest it is. Toss in a multiplayer mode that's basically Unreal Tournament for fantasy fans, and Dark Messiah is a game that should be considered by anyone sadly watching the number of PC game releases dwindle.
