Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Reviews

Both GamingExcellence and AceGamez have conjured up reviews for Ubisoft and Arkane Studios' Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. The review at GamingExcellence gives the game an overall score of 7.5/10:
One of the biggest problems with Dark Messiah is the bugs, the crashes, and the freeze-ups. They happen far too often. They happen while the game is starting up; they happen while the game is loading a game and new areas, and they'll just happen while you're running around through a level. It's incredibly irritating, almost always results in the entire system crashing, and often means lost progress.

What's left is a game that's pretty enjoyable, and a strong attempt to put some strong action and visceral combat into the first-person-slasher. The addition of the physics adds some depth to the combat, and the multiplayer gives a reason to play after the story has been played. A flawed game, but a very decent one nonetheless.

While the review at AceGamez gives the game an overall score of 5/10:
I am very disappointed with Dark Messiah Might and Magic, yet I will leave it installed on my system for some time. It is a deeply flawed game and one of the worst launches in recent history - certainly the worst Steam launch to date. Yet it is a blast; the visual effects and combat system and, yes, kicking Orcs off ledges and ghouls into spikes are all a lot of fun, if not particularly satisfying beyond the short term. So will you like this game? Take this test - download the demo, play it six times in rapid succession and if you still are loving every second of it then you can safely buy the game and know that your money will be buying you hours of fun combat. Just don't expect anything nearly so deep as the chasm you just kicked that necromancer into.
