Mage Knight: Apocalypse Preview

The folks at eToychest have written up a quick preview detailing the multiplayer aspect of Namco's newly released Mage Knight: Apocalypse.
Enemies will scale up to match a character's level as well. Essentially, this is also how online difficulty works: each chapter, from the first to the sixth, features scaled-level creatures. As players join up to a maximum of five per game (which is also the single player maximum) the power rating of all players are cumulated (power rating is based on number of skills unlocked). Loot and creature difficulty will scale to match, providing a challenging and fun experience and allowing some flexibility in party design. Granted, scaling is nothing new and has backfired in many games, so it is a dangerous design route, but the developers were quite clear that a lot of attention was put on this very subject, both for the single and multiplayer game, and it does sound like it was implemented well.
