The real challenge, as well as the game's greatest novelty, will be in incorporating the player into the game's world and the events of the War of the Ring in a way that's rewarding but that also makes sense. We all want to be significant, but we also know that there weren't a bunch of North Americans pretending to be dwarves running around alongside Gandalf and company down in Moria. Much of the game looks like it will be centered on unseen but sometimes implied events, with most personal involvement happening with new characters or characters that weren't accounted for throughout the entirety of the original story.
