Dungeon Siege II E3 Preview

GameSpy has published a preview of Dungeon Siege II, based upon what they saw of Microsoft and Gas Powered Games' action RPG sequel at this year's E3. Take a look:
The combat mechanics in particular were overhauled, with the addition of different skills that players have to actively engage. You have to keep your mouse on enemies as well, instead of just clicking on an enemy once and sitting back while the game does the fighting for you. The skills are wide and varied, and players have to make strategic choices about which branches and sub-branches they'll climb on the skill tree. You can emphasize melee, for example, but you've also got to choose between being a high-health fighter or a high-damage fighter. Magic users can choose between efficient mana conversation and high burst damage, but can also choose to specialize in fire, ice, or electricity.
