VIA Gamers has put together a preview of Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees, after spending some firsthand time with the expansion on the MMORPG's test server. A paragraph to follow:

All of the combat moves also now have special effects surrounding them. Combat now looks very impressive with swirls and shock waves a plenty. It reminds me of a modern Warner Brothers cartoon. If you wanted to play a cartoon you'd love it. The subtle animations that existed previously suited the Star Wars universe much more. One of my biggest hates of the other MMOG was all of this extra crap that's not needed. All that this does is tax video cards and systems more whilst it detracts from the realism of the game play.
