The Bard's Tale Reviews

Reviews for inXile's The Bard's Tale continue to make their way to the 'net, with three more recently being posted. The first is at G4TechTV with an overall score of 3/5:
The Bard's Tale could've been a great game, but focuses more on being funny and irreverent than being a solid action/RPG and ends up being pretty average. While humor and good writing is a noble goal, it's something that enhances a solid game, not mitigates a less-than-stellar one.

The second is at CGN with an overall score of 3.5/5:
Does this mean that InXile's newest title is the funniest game ever made? Absolutely not. (The Monkey Island series would like a word with anyone who says otherwise.) However, its humor is greatly appreciated, especially in these days of boring, rehashed ideas. Any gamer looking for a lighthearted adventure should at least give The Bard's Tale a rental.

And the third is at Gaming Nexus with an overall score of 8.2/10:
In the end, InXile has successfully put itself on the map with The Bard's Tale. They play upon an RPGers Pavlovian response toward barrel-bashing and rat-hunting, manifest one of the genre's most unforgettable anti-heroes, dutifully employ intelligent scriptwriting, and make it all a very enjoyable chord.
