Lord of the Rings: The Third Age Reviews

Four more reviews for Electronic Arts' Lord of the Rings: The Third Age have been posted over the past few days. The first is at Gameplanet with an overall score of 4/5:
Overall, The Third Age is an impressive game. With a new story it's a brave move for the The Lord of the Rings series, and EA needs to be congratulated for pulling it off so well. This is a great, entertaining game that would sit well in any Xbox collection.

The second is at ComputerAndVideoGames.com with an overall score of 67/100:
All the EA LacquerTM and over-the-top attention to detail suffocate a lot of the fun. We even used normal attacks to avoid drawn-out special moves. You'll be as worried about setting off ANOTHER cut-scene as you are about bumping into a cave troll.

The third is at Ace Gamez with an overall score of 8/10:
The Lord Of The Rings: The Third Age is a stylish RPG that authentically represents Middle Earth from the book and the film trilogy. Whilst the gameplay is both enjoyable and addictive, it is also very traditional in style and does nothing at all to further the genre. It doesn't quite compete with the likes of Fable and Sudeki, but fans of the RPG genre and of the films will find plenty of depth and satisfaction here to keep their interest to the end. As to the rest of you (the ones that survived the volley of arrows!) it might be worth a try before you buy.

And the fourth is at The Armchair Empire with an overall score of 8.9/10:
Although the Lord of the Rings: The Third Age might leave some RPG fanatics itching for more of a challenge, it's a well-balanced title that's a great pick for any fan of the books or movies.
