The first gameplay segment was set in The Necropolis, an ancient burial area that housed the graves of emperors, as well as their concubines and courtiers. The demoer played as Wu the Lotus Blossom, a female character who perfectly balances martial arts skills with magic powers. At her side was Sagacious Zu, a disgraced monk who's ironically named after the great emperor Sagacious Tien, the leader who founded the empire. The two warriors ran into some Mask Spirits, who wander the earth without rest. Since the ghosts could not be cut by iron, the demoer switched to magic using the D-pad, dispatching the enemies by freezing them with ice, then smashing them with the Leaping Tiger style.
