The Attack of the MMO Collector's Editions

IGN PC has whipped up a new article called "The Attack of the MMO Collector's Editions", in which they take a closer look at what's inside both the EverQuest II and World of Warcraft special editions. Here's a snip about the WoW Collector's Edition:
This collector's edition is a treasure trove for fans of the Warcraft series. The first thing you notice when sliding out the molded carrying section of the box, you'll see a very nice hard backed art book waiting for you. It's got a lot of great stuff in it that allows to see the various visions of the artists a Blizzard. Underneath the book is everything else. The biggest win here is probably the Behind the Scenes DVD. It's got a few long features about art, gameplay, cinematics, story, and more. It's got some great stuff in it and is a pretty interesting listen. While a lot of the commentary is over stills, the dialogue is interesting enough to keep things from getting stale. Definitely something fans will enjoy watching. The map, set off on its own like an important artifact, is in fact pretty sad. It's small and kind of interesting, but ultimately something you'll look at once and pack away. One of the best things about this is the fact that it has both the DVD and CD versions of the game, something that I'd love to see in more games in general. Finally, the last piece of fun is the extra guest pass that will let your friends create an account for themselves and play for 10 days for free before deciding to go buy a copy for themselves. This is probably something that is also in the regular version, but we haven't seen that package quite yet.
