Vampire: Bloodlines Q&A

FileFront has published a Q&A with Troika's Leonard Boyarsky, in which the CEO and art director answers several questions about their newly released RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Check it out:
Q: I'm assuming that Bloodlines will have a lot of the RPG elements that make Vampire what it is, can you describe how you're integrating these elements into the game?

A: Well, we've balanced the RPG and action elements (especially in combat) so that your stats and skills affect your gameplay, but don't get in the way of the feel we were going for. For example, we originally had your ranged combat feat determining whether you hit an opponent based on dice rolls, just like the PnP, but that just felt wrong when you were standing toe-to-toe and unloading a shotgun on someone and missing. So we changed it to regulating things like damage dealt, kickback on the weapon, etc.

We've also taken great pains to present all the political infighting and power struggles that are at the heart of the World of Darkness (as far as it pertains to Vampires, at least), so the world of Bloodlines really feels like it takes place in the universe that players of the PnP are familiar with.
