Q: Among the selection of spacecraft that shipped with Jump to Lightspeed, what are a couple that have surprised you or exceeded your expectations, and what are a couple of your personal favorites?
Todd Davies, Lead Audio Designer: I would have to go with the Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 Freighter. Of all the ships in Jump to Lightspeed, this is, for me, the most iconic of them all. The first time a small group and I took one of these for a test run, we just flew around in space for like an hour and tried to soak in the fact that this was as close to being in a Millennium Falcon-like ship as we were ever going to get. We had the upper and lower turrets manned and took turns shooting out into space even though there were no enemies attacking. This was a really moving and fun experience!
Then, the Decimator became available and what a great counterpart to the YT-1300 it was, sporting an awesome new design. Of course we did the same thing with that ship as well, and soon after, this was my new favorite ship!
And then, the SoroSuub Luxury Yacht 3000 was launched into space and we organized another multi passenger party, bigger and badder than the first two! And the end result, of course, was that this was my new favorite ship! I have learned one thing - I REALLY like multiplayer ships!
