EverQuest II Early Impressions

IGN PC has posted a two-page preview of EverQuest II, in which they provide some early impressions of the retail version of the MMORPG. A snip:
Unfortunately it's almost impossible for you to strike out into the wild until you've put at least several levels under your belt. The monsters in the wilds outside Qeynos and Freeport will absolutely chew through relatively new characters. This means you'll have to spend a lot of time in the cities, too much time in fact. Even the starting dungeons within the city boundaries are filled with monsters that can make short work of even tough characters. This means you'll be spending a lot of your early days safely tucked away behind the walls of your starting city. Sure, there are dangers to be found here but they tend to get a little old a little too quickly. I'd like to have seen more variety for those characters below tenth or twelfth level.
