Dragonshard Preview

GameSpy has put together a four-page preview of Dragonshard, after seeing Atari and Liquid Entertainment's Dungeons & Dragons RTS/RPG hybrid firsthand. An excerpt:
Building a village in Dragonshard begins with the Keep. The Keep is the center of the village and controls a limited amount of land around it, surrounded by walls and divided by streets into equally sized "building plots". The player will construct their buildings on these plots. They key element of the village's strategic puzzle, though, is this - there's no way to build every type of building in the space allotted! Players will have to make strategic decision on what types of units they're going to need and build accordingly.

Even better, buildings actually have an impact on each other depending on what structures are around them. Create a barracks and you'll be able to pump out basic fighters. Create a wizard's tower next to it that builds basic wizards and the barracks creates fighters with a higher magic resistance while the wizard's tower builds wizards with more hit points. Build two barracks next to each other and watch them combine to create more advanced veteran fighters. Build a religious structure that creates clerics on the other side and the barracks start cranking out Paladins.
