Lineage II Reviews

A pair of mediocre reviews for NCsoft's Lineage II made their way to the web over the past couple of days. The first is at FileFront with an overall score of 2/5:
Having played numerous MMORPGs, ranging from Ragnarok Online to Star Wars Galaxies to Final Fantasy XI, I have a pretty good idea what I'm looking for in an MMORPG. And, unless an MMORPG delivers something remotely close to that experience, I don't see why I, or more important, you should shell down $50 for the game and a month paid subscription, and then $12.99-$14.99 for each month after that. That adds up to a lot of your hard-earned cash, and if you're going to be playing an MMORPG, you want to make sure that the game is well worth the large chunk of your life that you'll be devoting to leveling up that Dwarf of yours.

Lineage 2, as I said at the beginning of this review, just isn't that game. The graphics are mediocre, and perform poorly, but I could live with this if the gameplay was actually more than mediocre, but that's just not true. The gameplay is totally sub-standard, and can really only appeal to the kinds of players who enjoy dull quests, and repetitive fighting. If you really have to invest in an MMORPG before the likes of Guild Wars and World of Warcraft come out, I'd suggest Star Wars Galaxies or Final Fantasy XI; Lineage 2 just isn't worth your time.

And the second is at PC Gameworld with an overall score of 50% and this short conclusion:
If you were a fan of the first Lineage, you'll probably like this one. Otherwise, beware.
