When you fight monsters you will gain skill points and achieve levels, though levels will only represent your character advancement, nothing else. In-between the levels you can distribute your earned skill points as soon as you get them. This will help you have fun at all times and not only when levelling. Virtue points will be earned by completing quests for various creatures and perhaps even the Avatar throughout the game. These quest points can be spent in special moves, but can also be imbued into weapons, armour or certain items. Intelligent items that grow in level and gain skill points will also be available, but they will be extremely rare.
