This ends up being one of those games I'm quite compelled to play right through to the end, despite the setbacks. What sets SpellForce apart is not just the gameplay, but also the storyline. If anything, JoWood has managed to capture a fantasy world that is unique from many others, and while certain times it can get quite frustrating, the rewards are great for those willing to endure. While it might not have what it takes to beat the kings of RTS (Warcraft comes to mind), it does have enough to make sure that it isn't remembered as just another clone.
