SpellForce Gameplay FAQ

Here's the list of questions & comments we have seen online via the forums, customer service calls, etc and our replies to them.

Among the features are:
· Over 30 new bindstones to improve travel time across the world of SpellForce
· Sort function for the Inventory
· Auto-unequip for Heroes who are taken out of the runeboard
· New Difficulty Level "Hard": If you have already played SpellForce you can find new challenges. More enemies..but also more rewards.
· New Soundoption for Surroundsound and four speakers.
· The Elfs now have all buildings available for Multiplayer.
· Female Avatar equipment now properly displays graphical effect
· Resource Cheat in Multiplayer resolved

· Significant framerate problems (i.e., framerate slowdown) when numerous characters are on the screen, potentially making the battles hard to follow.

Options screen allow for different resolutions, levels of detail etc. The minimum system requires means the game can be played on that machine with everything turned down to minimum. Anti-Aliasing and anisotropic filtering should be turned off and the latest video card drivers should be installed.

· No way to remap hotkeys

The hotkeys are on p42-43 of the manual. There is no way to remap the keys.

· Troops move across the map as a caravan instead of clustered in the formations they were originally ordered to move in.

As soon as the player clicks on an enemy, they break formation. Formations can be kept if the troop is moved to a location and an enemy is not right clicked on.

· Building placement can be difficult due to the "deadzone" around structures.

CTRL-Del and CTRL-End rotates the building before placement.

· Long loading times for levels

In order to bring the world to life in the best way possible, many textures
and files need to be loaded, as well as all of the saved information regarding inventory and quests.

· Difficult to select and manage units during combat.

See p14-15 of the manual. Additionally, hotkeys are on p42-43.

· No information about what buildings do or require when you mouseover them.

Information about the building can be found by first selecting the monument, and mousing over the building icon at the bottom of the screen.

· The manual lacks unit descriptions and a tech tree

The unit description and tech tree are in-game mouse-over tool tips. Prima's strategy guide for SpellForce has detailed information on every unit and building.
