EverQuest 2 will only work with DirectX 9, and John Smedley gave us some insight into the system requirements they're looking toward at this point, with recommended specs somewhere around the 3GHz range with 512MB of RAM. "We're aiming for Longhorn; we're aiming for systems five years in the future," John told us. "We're looking at the top of the line." That doesn't mean you folks with older systems will be left in the cold, though. Of course, EverQuest 2 will be scalable. Also look for the game to support Dolby Digital 5.1 and THX audio.
