VoodooExtreme has tracked down Black Isle's Doug Avery, Associate Producer on the upcoming Icewind Dale II, for a lengthy interview about what we can expect from the sequel. Much of the information has already circled the web, but there is some new information as well, like the fact that we will be exploring Dragon's Eye once again:

VE: Will any locales from the previous game be included or will the game take place entirely in the new areas?

Doug Avery: In Icewind Dale II we have created over thirty new areas for players to explore. In addition to this mix we've also redesigned Dragon's Eye, one of the original dungeons, and it is now inhabited by a new and darker power. As stated previously, I don't want to give away too much of the story, but there will be a few other locations that players familiar with the original game might recognize. All of these areas have undergone complete redesign and only resemble their former selves in name.
