More Dungeon Siege From GameSpy

In GameSpy's second Dungeon Siege special, they once again talk with Gas Powered Games about their highly anticipated RPG, revealing some additional information on how the magic system works. Here's a taste:

GameSpy: How varied are the types of spells in Dungeon Siege? For example, can magic users summon creatures, buff the party, or tear off some really wicked offensive spells?

Gas Powered Games: Every spell in the game is unique, even ones of a similar class, such as lightning spells, or healing spells. Both magic classes have summon, buff, and offensive spells, though each class has its specialties. We have a Combat Magic spell called Summon Mucosa, which spawns a large spider to help guard the caster. For Nature Magicians there's the Stone Skin spell, which will boost the whole parties armor level. An interesting Combat Magic spell is one that takes a small amount of the targeted player's life to give them a bonus to melee damage, called Rage. Of course, there's the really fantastic looking attack spells like Meteor, which pulls down a huge boulder from the sky striking multiple enemies and Sun Ray which uses the casters body to magnify a beam of light, burning the enemy to cinders.
