I noticed over on PlanetDiablo that they are now hosting a site devoted to the creation of a Baldur's Gate MOD for Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Pretty crazy, here's a rip from the site on what the MOD plans to incorporate:

The BG Mod features a huge overhaul to all seven character classes, including tweaks and many changes to skill organization and effects. There are, of course, many new Cube recipes, but the total amount of item changes and additions is amazing. To name a few additions, there are 30 gems, 24 runes, and each character receives many more class-specific items. You can read a full list of features of the Baldur's Gate Mod at its headquarters.
