Max Schnur Interview

Baldur's Gate Haven has conducted an interview with Max Schnur, one of the guys responsible for creating the recently released MOD to Baldur's Gate II, the Darkest Day. Here's a snippet:

    Q: What sort of technical hurdles did you encounter in building TDD? What was the most technically challenging?

    A: Well, the main technical hurdle is that we don't have access to the source code that BioWare has. Thus, we can't change anything that is hardcoded into the game. The best that we can do is combine scripting, spells, items, and creatures to simulate new effects. It's all done pretty seamlessly. Making entirely new areas with new graphics also wasn't really possible until TDD was about 3/4 done.
