The crew over at Smidge have released their ECTS report on the newly announced title from Funcom, Midgard. Don't expect the same report as Gamespot had posted. This one focus' more on the tech side of the game. It's worth the read and shows that Midgard holds great potential. Here's a snippet of the article:

The Midgard trailer that was shown to us was about 4 minutes in length and we were amazed by it's detail and smoothness of animations which were even better than most of the Blizzard trailers we have seen until now. It started with a lot of water, waves and norse dragonships to show what the game was focused on. Later on, we saw the land which was very natural, with a lot of trees, grass and rocks. Within this rough terrain, a little village came upon our eyes where we saw people walking around and working. Different professions like the blacksmith or the woodchopper were shown to give us an impression of how the life in Midgard would be like. The final screen of the trailer is the picture that is already available for download as wallpaper.
