Project Entropia Interview

JC Smith of MMO GameZNet recently had the chance to fire off a few questions to MindArk's Patric Sundstrom about their upcoming MMORPG, Project Entropia. The result is this interview which also includes five new screenshots of the game. Here's a little to get you started:

GameZNet: One of the most interesting aspects of Project Entropia is that the game is free and there is no monthly charge. The economy however will be tied in to real world money. Can you give us a better explanation of how that works? What kind of amount can the average player expect to spend in a month?

Patric: That's correct, Project Entropia will cost nothing to acquire or use except for each person's Internet connection charges, which have nothing to do with us. However, if you want to buy items like cool armor or deadly weapons, you're going to need money. You can earn that money the hard way by hunting, crafting, etc., or you can simply exchange real money for PED (Project Entropia Dollars). Of course, it will also be possible to convert PED back into real currency.

How much people will spend every month is very difficult to say, especially since our target market is more than just people who currently play online games. We know some people will never spend any money at all. Others will spend small amounts, and we also expect some people to spend quite a bit.

Hmmm definitely sounds interesting, but won't this give the wealthier game players an advantage?
