Joerg Schwiezer, the founder of Reakktor, the company behind the futuristic city-sim MMORPG Neocron fires off a page full of answers to NeoTerm's e-interview. I found this buried within:

Q: Please describe the features within the game to keep it interesting for the nonviolent player.

A: The main goal for someone who does not want to be involved in combat is to make money by trading goods. You can also hack/explore/research/create/repair/deliver for money. If you neither want to get involved in combat nor want to make money, you will find Neocron to be a boring game …you still could use it as a 3D chatroom though ;)

Of all the MMORPG's coming out, this one appears to be the most Gibsonesque, followed by Anarchy Online.
