UWO: Origin Chat Log

Judging not only by the sheer amount of questions fans of the upcoming MMORPG, Ultima Worlds Online: Origin, asked the other night, but the range and specificness of the questions, this chat with the Dev Team was one of the more productive ones I've read. UO2Vault did a little word-houdini on the transcript and produced an edited chat log of the event, thusly reading a little like the following:

Q: With the magic system almost complete, can you finally give us some examples of spells and their effects?

<Ubiq> Certainly. The four primary schools each have their own personality to them, and thus have spells that suit them well.
<Ubiq> For example, fire concentrates on damage, water on healing, earth on enchantments (buffs) and air is more general purpose.
<Ubiq> Each of the schools also have spells designed to help out each other
<Ubiq> For example, fire mages have spells that can make earth mages more powerful.
<Ubiq> And each of the schools also have spells designed to defend against or hose another school
<Ubiq> FOr example, water magic happens to have some surprises for those uppity fire mages.
<Ubiq> Expect some rare-cast spells (i.e. spells you can only use once an hour, once a day, or rarer!)
<Ubiq> And expect a lot of spells that reinforce the notion of the party
<Ubiq> Some of the spells are designed to, for example, make monsters more vulnerable to warrior attacks.
<Ubiq> of course, that's just the tip of the iceberg
