Dark Age Observances

A bit dispassionate in tone and content but nevertheless enjoyable, Jonric of RPGvault offers up some of his impressions after 10 hours ofthe 2nd phase of beta in the MMORPG set in Albion, Dark Age of Camelot. It's fun to read different takes on any new game that is not available yet, though he says little more than is already known. But you get more than just wonderful and eloquent rhetoric, you get pictures. So go and check it out. Here's a helping:

...the Mythic team is putting quite a bit of emphasis on the game's economy. Money is often dropped directly by dead opponents, and you can also sell the various items you loot from them. Regardless, it appears that accumulating wealth is not going to be an easy task. It's not very difficult to amass enough coinage to purchase and upgrade to the basic weapon you begin with, or to buy beginners' armor. However, it does take longer to acquire enough for further upgrades. In addition, the first decisions to be made within the economic system arise almost immediately. For example, you may be able to buy a full set of lower-grade armor versus a single piece of a better quality. Or perhaps you'd rather upgrade your weapon.
