Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues Update #53 Released

Richard Garriott's multiplayer RPG Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues was officially released back in March after a lengthy period of Early Access. Following the release, the team at Portalarium promised to continue supporting the game with regular monthly content updates. The first of those, Update #53, is now live, bringing additional quests, items, and a fair amount of miscellaneous improvements to the game.

Portalarium and Travian Games have released the latest update for the online fantasy multiplayer RPG Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues from legendary game designer, Richard Garriott. This is the first update following the game’s launch on on March 27th. Developers have pledged monthly releases as they continually add content to the game.

Players can expect the following in Shroud of the Avatar Release 53:
  • Additional side quests and overall story polish, including new dialogue for NPCs and rebalancing of existing quests.
  • Loot additions, including new decorations, player-crafted gear, lot deeds and homes and increased loot in Offline Mode.
  • Gear additions and improvements including Virtue effects on gear and new armor types.
  • New scenes, including two new adventuring areas based on a pirate-theme: Tenebris Harbor and Penmawr Island.
  • A host of other game improvements, such as bug fixes, performance optimization, user interface polish and additional localization content.
  • Heraldry will become available for all players with thousands of unique patterns available.

As a fantasy multiplayer RPG, Shroud of the Avatar blends together many of the key features that made the Ultima series popular. This includes wide-reaching freedom to explore a living, breathing fantasy world enriched by a player-driven crafting and economic system and an advancement path where players are confronted with ethical choices based on Virtues. The game features an engaging storyline written in collaboration with celebrated fantasy author Tracy Hickman (Dragonlance).

Players will benefit from the incorporation of several MMO gameplay features, combining to comprise a unique, shared online experience set within a persistent world. They can opt to play solo or with friends, owning their own houses or even entire towns, and sign up and cooperate within various in-game guilds.
