Path of Exile Upcoming Development Schedule and Abyss League Statistics

The upcoming 3.2.0 content update for Path of Exile and its accompanying challenge league should launch on Friday, March 2, 2018, according to this official announcement. The release will be preceded by a press tour and a detailed feature reveal that will give us the specifics of this upcoming content update. Here's what we know so far:

As we've mentioned, the Abyss League will run for a duration of 12 weeks which means that we have only four weeks to go! This may have you wondering what to expect in the coming weeks and after the Abyss League ends.

In just under two weeks, we will begin a press-tour with journalists to disclose the details of Content Update 3.2.0 and its challenge league.

In just under three weeks, we plan to announce the full details of this challenge league and the other big features in Content Update 3.2.0. The announcement will be accompanied by a two-week countdown on the website. We can't reveal much about the league at this stage, but we're very excited about how different this one feels.

With our 3.2.0 announcement post, we will release new league supporter packs. The War for the Atlas Packs will remain in the store but the Abyss League packs will no longer be available once these packs are live. This means that there's only three weeks to grab your Abyss supporter pack before they leave the store. If you're worried about missing out, feel free to contact us at support[at]grindinggear.com to arrange a payment plan which can reserve a pack for you for up to six months after the commencement of your plan.

The Abyss League will end at Feb 27, 2018 1:00 AM or Monday 26 February (US time) if the local time is not displaying for you correctly.

Because we're back to three-month schedule for challenge leagues, there isn't quite enough time to run additional competitive events like Mayhem and Turmoil before the league ends, but we're very aware that many community members are keen for more races.

Our current plan is to release Content Update 3.2.0 and challenge league on Friday March 2 (US time). For Xbox One users, we'll be announcing start and finish dates for you as soon as we possibly can.

We're very excited to share what we've been working on with you all. Best of luck for the remainder of the Abyss League!

And since the currently ongoing Abyss League is wrapping up, you can now check out some official stats, if that's your thing. For example:

Top Ten Run areas in Abyss League
  • The Twilight Strand
  • The Blood Aqueduct
  • Arid Lake
  • Beach
  • Burial Chambers
  • Vault
  • Strand
  • Desert
  • Abyssal Depths
  • Channel
This is the first time in memory that The Twilight Strand has been the single highest-run area in the game. This is almost certainly due to the introduction of Oni-Goroshi, which requires hundreds of Twilight Strand runs to obtain.

The other interesting appearance on this list is the Abyssal Depths. The appearance of the Abyssal Depths indicates that it is considered a valuable occurrence that players are unlikely to skip, mainly due to the potential for it to contain one of the Lich bosses.
