While we haven't received a press release yet and there is no mention of it on the official newsfeed, the team at Bethesda Softworks did post an announcement on Steam heralding the immediate availability of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on the popular digital download platform. $39.99 gets you a copy if you don't already qualify for a free one:
