Obsidian Working on Skyforge MMORPG

In an interesting and surprisingly low-key announcement, we've learned that Obsidian Entertainment, developers of many beloved RPGs, will be helping Allods Team with the development of Skyforge, a brand-new Russian MMORPG that will launch on PCs. So far we don't know too much about the game, but there's a nearly ten-minute announcement video available here.

"Skyforge is very interesting and promising project. I am glad that Obsidian Entertainment is involved in working on this game," said Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart. "I am confident that the cooperation with the Allods Team will be a great experience for all of us."

Skyforge was first announced back in May 2012 under the development of Allods Team. The game is expected to launch on PC in 2014.

So far it's not clear what role Obsidian will play - whether they will be working on translation for English-speaking markets, on developing content, or technology, so we have contacted Obsidian to hopefully learn a bit more. Normally we don't cover MMOs in too much detail around here, but considering the Obsidian connection we thought it was our responsibility to bring the news to light.
