Humor in RPGs: It Matters More Than You Think

1UP's Kat Bailey has penned an extremely brief editorial on humor in RPGs, which features a few examples in some recent and less recent titles. I'm not quite sure if I can agree with this:
Fallout: A dark, ironic sense of humor helped to lighten the dark post-apocalyptic mood. Being able to talk The Master into killing himself wasn't precisely "funny," but it was shocking enough to inspire its own brand of laughter.

There's plenty of humor in Fallout, but I don't believe the Master's death was ever intended to be funny.
