While we knew about the Mechromancer character DLC and that it's coming for free to pre-orderers for quite a while, Gearbox Software has only now finally released the details about it, including its release date and the actual name of the character.

Gaige the Mechromancer will be coming October 16th for $9.99/800 Microsoft Points:

The Mechromancer, a new character class for Borderlands 2, is coming October 16!

Mechromancer class will be FREE to Borderlands 2 Premiere Club members. Borderlands 2 Premiere Club membership is free to customers who pre-order Borderlands 2 with participating retailers. Check www.borderlands2.com for details. Mechromancer class will be released simultaneously for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points for customers who are not Premiere Club members.
