Ultima Forever Revealed as a Free-to-Play RPG

Although there have long been rumors of a new Ultima game in development for years now, and we even saw a web site for an upcoming game appear briefly last year, it seems that it's now official: Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar's web page has just gone live!

So far, details of the game are very scant, but from the looks of the web page, it will be a free-to-play game targeting Facebook and/or mobile platforms. Aside from the pretty old-school artwork, the web site mentions two discrete character classes, the Fighter and Mage, contrast to Ultima tradition. The art style for the new characters themselves appears to follow the same Flash-style look popular with many social games these days.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this just yet myself, but no doubt we'll be hearing more official news about Ultima Forever shortly.
The first great Western RPG has been lovingly restored in Ultima Forever - return to the Ultima series in BioWare's new cross-platform action RPG. Accept the challenge from Lady British and save the land of Britannia. Play as the Fighter or the Mage and travel alone or with friends, restore virtue and become the Avatar!
